TE H2 is committed to meaningful engagement with the local community near the Wak Wak Solar Farm project. We will be in the local area to hear your feedback in late 2025 and during 2026 to hear your feedback about the project. Project Community Benefits

The proposed Wak Wak Solar Farm will provide competitive and reliable dispatchable renewable electricity to existing and future heavy industry. 

Employment

The Wak Wak Solar Farm is expected to create over 900 construction jobs, 50 full-time operations jobs and third-party contracting opportunities across its expected 30 to 60-year project life.

TE H2 will work collaboratively with the Northern Territory Government and the local construction and operations industries to source a suitable workforce and secure supply chain partners.

Economic

TE H2 will invest $2.8 billion into the Wak Wak Solar Farm project, 20% of which is expected to be spent locally.

The scale of the Wak Wak Solar Farm generates significant potential for developing a strong renewable industry within the Northern Territory.

The infrastructure, skills and experience that the Wak Wak Solar Farm will bring to the Northern Territory will provide crucial diversification within the local economy and support further investment in renewable energy sectors and the decarbonisation of industry into the future.

Environment

The Wak Wak Solar Farm will contribute significantly to the Northern Territory Government’s goal to establish a net zero economy by 2050. The project also will support local, national, and global decarbonization efforts.

Technology

The Wak Wak Solar Farm optimises existing technology at an innovative scale through a careful integration of advanced components, precise engineering, and expert operation.

Community Engagement

TE H2 is committed to engaging with the community throughout the development, construction and operational life of the Wak Wak Solar Farm.

TE H2 values community input and will undertake an extensive community engagement process within our communities to develop the Wak Wak Solar Farm project.

First Nations

TE H2 is committed to long-term and proactive relationships with First Nations communities and people as a part of the Wak Wak Solar Farm project. The project is engaging with the Northern Land Council, Larrakia Development Corporation, Wulna, and Northern Territory Indigenous Business Network.
