The Lawler Labor Government is attracting projects to the Territory that will grow our economy and support working and training opportunities.

Middle Arm proponent TE H2 has reached a new project milestone undertaking site design and engineering activities.

TE H2’s proposed Darwin H2 Hub, will be a green hydrogen production facility, which will use solar energy to produce more than 80,000 tonnes of renewable-based hydrogen each year with the opportunity to decarbonise energy-intensive and hard-to-abate sectors.

With the potential to create approximately 800 jobs during construction and 175 positions once it is operational, the hydrogen will be for domestic and international export.

Having projects like this in the Territory is inspiring our future workforce with 5 high school students from the Northern Territory have the opportunity to represent Australia in the World Final of the STEAM education Hydrogen Grand Prix (H2GP) 2024 in California.

The competition aims to inspire young STEAM students to design, engineer, build, and race their own hydrogen-powered cars – a real-world opportunity to road test an energy of the future.

The NT Christian School team with the support of TE H2, secured a podium position at the national H2GP competition held at the Gold Coast in June 2024, finishing a close second in their first racing experience.

TE H2 is one of four proponents of the Middle Arm precinct, with another two national companies also in discussions with the Territory Government.
